I am still looking to fill the first two weeks in August with camps for a 5 year old boy. He is very active, and I am looking for full day sports or activity camps. This should be in the Denver area. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks!

My son did the DU P.A.S.S. camp and loved it: http://recreation.du.edu/familyyouth/?sec=co&main=6&main2=96&main3=0
Unfortunately, it looks like 6 is the minimum age. Maybe next year.

Thanks. It seems there are lots of camps for kids 6 and older. But I will keep that in mind for next year.

I did quite a bit of research into summer programs for my 5 year old. Art camps, sports camps, private school options, animial enthusiasts.
See my GuideSpot guide for more scoop: http://www.guidespot.com/guides/dI88qzGejb9BK3SHwOKgO1
Hope this helps!

There is a horse camp near Louisville that looks good. It is at the intersection of highway 42 and dillon road, but I can't think of the name of it.

Do you mean Flat Iron Equestrian Center? I think that is the place - used to drive by it all the time on my way to work.

This info is for reference for the next year....
My child attended two zoo camps this year as well as the small world camp offered by Kaleidoscope. My friends' children also went to the camp at the international school in Park Hill. Reviews are mixed (this is for 4-5 year olds).
Zoo camps: Register at 8 a.m. the first day. Otherwise, it 's impossible to get in. The kids really loved the camps and learned some big words. The most fun is to hear them say things like "the ocean is a big habitat" and "Mommy, turn the lights off, we need to save energy". I recommend this camp. Full days are long and hot, but it's a great program.

Kaleidoscope - Small World: The kids loved this. There were 1 to 2 trips every week, including Pirate's Cove, Arvada Center, and the Cheery Creek Reservoir. They had lots of fun. I recommend this one as well.
Info: http://kaleidoscope.dpsk12.org/
International School: No great reviews here. It was described as "dull". Not recommended for little ones.
